Importing Records from Excel

It is possible to import records from a spread sheet that you you have created in Excel. This guide will walk you through that process.

  1. First, click on the module you would like to import data into. Then click Import.

  2. This is the simple spread sheet that we would like to import. The numbers are the project numbers and the words are going to be project statuses.

  3. The page that comes up will show the two types of files that you can import, .xlsx and .csv.
Click the Choose File button to select the file to upload.

  4. Once you have selected the file, it will take you back to the previous screen. There, you can click, "Upload the selected file."
The page that appears will let you configure the way the system creates new records. First, choose who will own the records. Then, you can choose from a previously saved map. Next, tell the system where to put data from the spreadsheet.
Note, you can choose to have the system ignore certain columns if you would like.
When you are ready, click the "Import File," button.

  5. You will then be taken to the Import Data Log page. This will give you the status of all your imports.

  6. Navigate back to the module to see the newly imported records.
Note, in this example, there is some missing information. I can go and edit the records to add that information in.
